William J. “Bill” Spring, 64, a resident of Forty Fort and formerly of Tunkhannock, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, July 1, 2023, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his family.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Kriefski Spring. Bill and Nancy would have celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on October 21st. Left to cherish Bill’s memory are his children, Justine Samanas and her husband, Jonathan, Kingston Township; Dustin Spring and his wife, Lindsey, Kingston Township; and Adam Spring, Larksville; his six grandchildren, Anna Samanas, Daxton Spring, Damon Spring, Alexander Spring, Abram Spring, and Asher Spring; his three sisters, Lynn Morris and her husband, Joe, Indiana; Cathy Custer and her husband, Mike, Washington; and Holly Reynolds and her husband, Ray, Florida; as well his nieces, nephews, and friends.
Born on October 7, 1958, in Wilkes-Barre, William was one of four children born to the late William F. Spring and Camille Zardecki Spring. Raised in Tunkhannock, Bill was a graduate of Tunkhannock High School, Class of 1976.
After high school, Bill gained employment with Procter and Gamble, Mehoopany, working there as a technician for 27 years. He then went on to work part-time assisting with the maintenance at his church, Back Mountain Harvest, Trucksville, and also as mail deliveryman and courier for Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.
Bill had a God given talent for pottery – a talent he loved and excelled at! Starting out as a hobby, Bill’s talent turned into a business, operating as “Spring Pottery”, and selling his pottery at craft shows. In addition to his knack for pottery, Bill proudly remodeled his home as well as restored his brown 1979 Pontiac Trans Am. Bill had a love for camping, fishing, and boating with his family. A true family man, Bill was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather who was always there for his loved ones.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a memorial service which will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at 11:00 AM in Back Mountain Harvest, 340 Carverton Road, Trucksville, followed by an informal visitation with the family.
