William “Bill” Lukacinsky, 64, a resident of Mountain Top, passed away on Tuesday evening, December 19, 2017, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, following a brief illness.
His loving wife is Margo (Bogusko) Lukacinsky, to whom he was happily married to for 42 years.
Born on June 15, 1953, in Wilkes-Barre, Bill was the only child born to the late Bella “Bill” Lukacinsky and Martha (Halecki) Lukacinsky.
Bill was a member of the last graduating class of the former Marymount High School, and he received an Associate’s Degree in Electronics from LCCC.
Over the years, he was employed by RCA, Sweda Int., and owned his own cash register business. He recently retired from Lasership in Wilkes-Barre.
Bill served with the U.S. Army Reserves 109th Field Hospital as a medic. He held membership with the American Legion, Post 815, Wilkes-Barre Twp.
A man of faith, Bill was a member of Saint Jude’s Church, Mountain Top, and was a longtime member of Saint Mary the Maternity Church, now Our Lady of Hope Parish, Wilkes-Barre.
During his teen years, he was a saxophone player in the band “The Travelers” with his best friends, Tony Umlah and Joe D.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Al Bogusko; and his brother-in-law, Tony Katra.
Surviving in addition to his loving wife, Margo, are his son, Lukas Lukacinsky, who was the joy of his life; his mother-in-law, Marge Bogusko; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Anita and Rich Sirak; Andrea Bogusko; Matt Yorkonis; and Judy Katra; his nieces and nephews, April and David Fernandes; Aaron, Tracy, Andi and Arden Yorkonis; Kellan and Kyle Katra; and his many cousins and good friends.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Mass which will be celebrated on Saturday, December 23, 2017, at 10:00 AM in the church he was baptized and married in, Our Lady of Hope Parish, 40 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, with the Reverend John S. Terry, Pastor, officiating.
Interment will follow in Saint Mary the Maternity Cemetery, West Wyoming.
Family and Friends may call on Saturday morning, from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at the church.
