Victor J. “Vic” Lugosky, 92, a resident of Forty Fort, passed into eternal life on Monday morning, April 13, 2026, at the Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Dallas, where he was recently a guest.
His loving wife is Marian B. Pepsin Lugosky with whom Vic would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on June 9th.
Born on February 24, 1934, in Wilkes-Barre, Victor was the son of the late Anthony Lugosky and Agnes Kupstas Kallant Lugosky.
Raised in Wilkes-Barre, Vic was a graduate of the former Saint Nicholas High School, Wilkes-Barre, Class of 1952.
A veteran of the United States Army and Army National Guard of Pennsylvania, Vic devoted 38 years in service of his country. Enlisting with the Army National Guard of Pennsylvania in 1954, he was stationed with the 109th Field Artillery Regiment, Kingston. In 1956, just after the Korean War, he was called into active service with the Army, serving for 2 years. After that, he continued his service with the Army National Guard until his honorable discharge in 1992, attaining the rank of Master Sergeant and being the recipient of countless decorations and medals.
Prior to his retirement, Vic was employed as the Maintenance Section Chief for the Kingston Armory of 109th Field Artillery Regiment.
Vic was a member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville, and a 50-year member of American Legion, Andrew Lawrence Post 644, Swoyersville.
Family was the center of Vic’s life, and he loved spending time with his wife, sons, grandchildren and extended family. He also enjoyed traveling and the countless fishing trips he took to Canada with his wife, sons, and friends, especially his best friend, the late Joseph Anistranski – those trips were his pride and joy! He will be remembered not only as a family man but also as a man of God and country.
In addition to his parents, Anthony and Agnes, Vic was preceded in death by his brothers and sister, Charles Kallant, Frank Lugosky, Stanley Lugosky, and Ruth Muscovitch.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Marian, and their three sons, Victor Jay Lugosky and his wife, Toni, Pine Grove; Michael Lugosky and his wife, Betsy, Pringle; and Alan Lugosky and his wife, Jena, Lexington Park, Maryland; his grandchildren, Michael Lugosky; Lindsey Wilson and her husband, Corey; and Mark Lugosky; along with three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Lugosky family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at the Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their compassionate care for Vic during his time there.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Vic’s services which will begin with viewing on Monday, April 20, 2026, from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 116 Hughes Street, Swoyersville.
Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Holy Trinity Lithuanian Catholic Cemetery, Bear Creek, where Military Honors will be accorded by the United States Army.
