Veronica A. Novroski, 96, a resident of Swoyersville, passed into eternal life on Sunday evening, January 30, 2022, at Allied Services Hospice Center, Wilkes-Barre.
Her beloved husband was the late Edward T. Novroski Sr., who passed away on April 29, 1993. Together, Edward and Veronica shared 43 beautiful years of marriage.
Born on March 23, 1925, in Swoyersville, Veronica was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Troyanovich) Gulla.
Veronica was a lifelong resident of Swoyersville, and was graduate of the former Swoyersville High School, Class of 1944.
A devoted homemaker most of her life, Veronica worked in the local garment industry in her earlier years, most notably at the former Duplan Silk Mill, Kingston, where she helped to fashion the silk that was used in the parachutes during World War II.
A faithful Catholic, Veronica was a lifelong member of the former Holy Trinity Church, Swoyersville, holding membership with its Confraternity of Christian Mothers. Following the consolidation of her church, she became a member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville.
Veronica was a quiet and kind woman who enjoyed tending to her flower garden, and cooking for her family, especially her family’s favorite dish, her famous homemade noodles! She also loved dancing to the polka’s, quilting with her sisters, collecting bells, and cheering on the New York Yankees.
Above all, Veronica’s greatest enjoyment in life was being surrounded by her loved ones. She truly epitomized the roles of wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. The world may seem dim without her here, but Heaven is a much brighter place having her there, where she is reunited with all her loved ones who were patiently awaiting her arrival.
In addition to her parents, John and Anna Gulla, and her husband, Edward, Veronica was preceded in death by her son, Edward T. Novroski Jr., who passed away on October 11, 2020; her brothers, Stephen Yonik, John Gulla, Joseph Gula, Andrew Gulla, George Gulla, and Thomas Gulla; and her sisters, Theresa Gulla, Elizabeth Gavlick, Mary Brutko, Anna Novroski, and Helen Gaydos.
Veronica is survived by her children, Geraldine Ptashinski and her husband, John, Glen Lyon; and Janet Dombroski and her husband, Anthony, Swoyersville; her four grandchildren, Ryan Ptashinski; Karen Samuels and her husband, Joel; Tara Dombroski; and Mark Ptashinski; her three great-grandchildren, Jenna Vern Samuels, Lillian Samuels, and Derek Ptashinski; as well as generations of nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend their sincerest gratitude to all those who assisted Veronica during her time of need, most especially those from Allied Services Hospice; Pathway Healthcare; and Home Sweet Home, as well as her nieces, nephews, and neighbors who were always there to lend a helping hand over the years.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend Veronica’s viewing which will be held on Thursday, February 03, 2022, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, at the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort.
