Timothy Jon “TJ” Brek, 35, of Sweet Valley, died unexpectedly Saturday evening, April 30, 2016, from injuries sustained in an accident. TJ was a loving son, father, husband, brother, uncle and friend.
Born on January 22, 1981, in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of Thomas “Tim” Brek and Carole Brek of Kingston.
TJ was a 1999 graduate of Wyoming Valley West High School. He was a long-time employee of Two Jacks Cycle and Powersports, Wilkes-Barre, where he was the parts manager.
TJ was known far and wide for his witty sense of humor, his huge heart, and his dedication to his family and friends. TJ was blessed to have many loving friends with whom he shared a variety of interests. His passion in life was his family and friends, and riding anything with wheels. TJ lived every day like it was his last and even spent his last moments on this earth doing what he loved, and enjoying his life.
In addition to his parents, TJ is survived by his wife of almost 10 years, Kelly Lawson Brek; his beloved son, Evan, who is 7; his grandmother, Dorothy Brek of Forty Fort; his siblings, Amy Brek (Red) of Kingston, Thomas Grippo (Lynn) of Wysox, Toni McCarty (Ron) of Wyalusing, Edward Grippo (Adrienne) of Wyalusing; a very special nephew, Erik Grippo; nephews, Josh, Chris, and Matt Grippo; nieces, Alyssa and Cari McCarty, Gabrielle and Vanessa Leonard; his father-in-law, Herbert Lawson; sister-in-law, Cindy Height (Jason); niece, Sarah Lawson; and nephews, Eric Lawson and Parker Height; his best dog, Buster; and his friends which are too numerous to count.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Thomas J. Brek; his maternal grandfather Edward Honeywell Sr.; his maternal grandmother, Margaret Honeywell; and his mother-in-law, Katherine Lawson.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend a celebration of TJ’s life which will be held on Saturday, May 07, 2016 at 4:30 PM at the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, with the Reverend Dr. Barry Ballard of the Wyalusing Presbyterian Church officiating.
Family and friends may call on Saturday from 2:00 PM until the time of the service.
