Theresa Kollar, 83, a resident of Wyoming, passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening, May 13, 2014, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Her beloved husband was the late Frank A. Kollar, who passed away on April 28, 1983.
Born on April 02, 1931, in Old Forge, Theresa was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Rynich) Hunisch.
Raised in Swoyersville, Theresa was a graduate of the former Swoyersville High School, Class of 1949.
Prior to her retirement in 1992, Theresa was employed in the local garment industry.
A faithful Catholic, Theresa was a member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville.
Theresa was a member of the Ladies Auxiliaries of both the Veteran of Foreign Wars, Post 283, Kingston and the American Legion, Joseph E. Conlon Post 558, Plains. Additionally, she held membership with the International Ladies Garment Workers Union (ILGWU).
In addition to her parents and her husband, Theresa was preceded in death by her sister, Helen S. Kochanski.
Theresa is survived by several friends.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Saturday, May 17, 2014, at 10:00 AM in Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 116 Hughes Street, Swoyersville, with the Reverend Joseph J. Pisaneschi, her Pastor, officiating.
Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Saint Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Swoyersville.
At Theresa’s request, there will be no public calling hours.
