Theresa A. Rallo, 64, a resident of Forty Fort, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family and friends, on Sunday evening, August 03, 2014, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.Born on October 09, 1949, in Pittston, Theresa was the daughter of the late Jasper and Violet (Pastore) Arnone. Following the death of her mother when Theresa was 5 years old, her father married the late Ruth (Scureman) Arnone, who lovingly raised Theresa.Raised in Wilkes-Barre, Theresa was a graduate of E.L. Meyers High School, Class of 1967.Prior to her retirement, Theresa was employed for many years in the Student Service Department of Wilkes University.Theresa was a faithful Catholic and longtime member of the former Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Swoyersville. Following the consolidation of her church, she became a member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville.For over 25 years, Theresa was a member of the General Federation Women’s Club (GFCW), West Side Chapter. Theresa also enjoyed her “Card Club,” which was a group of great friends that met on a monthly basis for dinner and drinks, and never actually played cards. As her children were growing up, she was actively involved in PTO and Little League.Throughout her life, Theresa was blessed to travel to Greece, Turkey, Italy, and most recently, to Ireland with her children. She also loved taking trips to Cape May with her grandchildren.Always a gracious mother and host, Theresa greatly enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends. She was the happiest when her dining room and/or kitchen table was filled with those she loved. She looked forward to Sunday dinners, as her family and close friends would gather around her table eating her famous pasta and meatballs.Many know of Theresa’s great love for animals, especially for her beloved dogs, Lily, Gizmo and Chloe.Family was the most important part of Theresa’s life and she treasured every moment she shared with her loved ones. An adoring grandmother, she always held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren, Julia and Matthew. As if her smile was not big enough, Theresa would beam at the sight of them.Theresa had a passion for life and many will remember her for her contagious laugh! Theresa fought a long time battle with cancer, specifically, melanoma, thyroid, and mesothelioma. Not many women are dealt the obstacles that she was and are able to go on as gracefully as she did. Throughout her illness, Theresa always remained optimistic and positive, and she exemplified courage, characteristics only a strong woman portrays. Theresa gave new meaning to the word, “strength.”Theresa is survived by her husband, John A. Rallo Sr.; her children, John A. Rallo Jr. and his wife, Jessica, Shavertown; Maria Rallo Godfrey and her husband, Keith, Forty Fort; and Gina Rallo, Forty Fort; her grandchildren, Julia Violet Godfrey and Matthew William Godfrey; her nieces, Tara Hustey-Pisano, also a cancer survivor and Deanna Hustey-Metz; and her loving friends.Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend Theresa’s visitation which will be held on Friday, August 08, 2014, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, at the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort.A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 09, 2014, at 10:00 AM in Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 116 Hughes Street, Swoyersville, with the Reverend Joseph J.
