Theodore J. “Ted” Kozemko, 56, a resident of the Parsons section of Wilkes-Barre, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday afternoon, January 12, 2016, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.
His loving wife is Pamela E. (Schultz) Kozemko. Together, Ted and Pam celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary on June 13, 2015.
Born on July 21, 1959, in Wilkes-Barre, Ted was the son of Audrey (Kuttenberg) Kozemko, Wilkes-Barre, and the late Theodore J. Kozemko.
Ted was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School, Class of 1977, and furthered his education at Johnson College, Scranton.
Since 2002, Ted had been employed as the operations manager for Kost Tire and Auto Service Centers, at their main office in Clarks Summit.
Ted was a faithful member of East End Primitive Methodist Church, Wilkes-Barre, where he served as Vice President of the church’s Trustee Board, and acted as their financial steward. He also served his church as the Head Usher; was a member of the church’s choir; and played in the church’s worship band.
A talented drummer, Ted had a great appreciation for music throughout his life.
One of Ted’s favorite things to do was vacation with his family. Together, they enjoyed many family vacations to various beaches and to Disney World, which was one of his favorite places.
Family was the most important part of Ted’s life, and he cherished every moment he had with his loved ones, especially his granddaughter, Madelyn, who was the apple of his eye. Although Ted will be deeply missed, he leaves behind a legacy that will live on forever.
In addition to his father, Theodore, Ted was preceded in death by his only sister, Deborah Malys.
In addition to his wife, Pam, and his mother, Audrey, Ted is survived by his daughter, Corinne Santarelli and her husband, Anthony, Factoryville; his son, Jared Kozemko and his companion, Cheryl Skinn, Los Angeles, California; his granddaughter, Madelyn Santarelli, Factoryville; his father-in-law, Walter Barteld and his wife, Marge, Wilkes-Barre; his brother-in-law, Leonard Malys, Ashley; and his extended family and many friends.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend Ted’s Memorial Service which will be celebrated on Saturday, January 16, 2016, at 1:00 PM in East End Primitive Methodist Church, Laurel and Kidder Streets, Wilkes-Barre, with Pastor Marty Garms, officiating.
Ted’s Family will receive family and friends on Saturday, from 12:00 to 1:00 PM, at East End Primitive Methodist Church.
