Technical Sergeant Willard Andrew “Andy” Davis, United States Air Force, Retired, 86, a resident of Shavertown, passed into eternal life on Thursday morning, October 01, 2026, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.
His beloved wife of 36 years was the late Claire Anne Zagone Davis who passed away July 24, 2004.
Born on November 25, 1939, in Kingston, Andy was one of thirteen children born to the late Arthur D. Davis and Mary Rita Chervenitski Davis.
A proud and decorated United States Air Force career serviceman, Andy honorably served his country for over 20 years. Enlisting at the age of 17, he was stationed at various Military Bases around the world; served two tours during the Vietnam War; worked as an aircraft mechanic for most of his military career; and was the recipient of countless awards and decorations, merits of honor, and accolades, most notably the Presidential Unit Citation. Upon his retirement on September 30, 1977, Andy had attained the rank of Technical Sergeant of the United States Air Force.
Following his military service, Andy gained employment with the former Bendix Flight Systems, Montrose, where he worked as an electronics technician until his retirement.
A man of faith, Andy and his late wife, Claire, were longtime members of Holy Trinity Church, Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville.
Enjoying the simple pleasures of life, Andy was an avid coin collector, an amateur metal detectorist, a great fan of the old Westerns, and was known for fixing anything that needed repair. Selfless and giving, he also found joy in donating to countless charities and causes that touched his heart.
A family man at heart, Andy cherished every moment he had with his loved ones. A loving and devoted husband, father, “Pa Pa,” brother, and uncle, he leaves behind an amazing legacy that will forever be held in the hearts of those he held so close to him.
In addition to his parents, Arthur and Mary Rita, and his wife, Claire, Andy was preceded in death by his brothers, Arthur, Harry, Warren, Richard, Jimmy, Ned, Daniel, Barry, and Thomas Davis; and his sisters, Jonelle Hadvance and Audrey Emmert.
Left to cherish his memory are his three sons, Steve A. Davis and his wife, Colleen, North Port, Florida; Glenn J. Davis, Wyoming; and Matthew M.
