Sylvia Ruth Baum, a resident of Forty Fort, passed into eternal life on Monday, May 28, 2018, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Her beloved husband of 60 years is Gerald “Jerry” Baum.
Born in Mount Carmel, Sylvia was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Ruth (Bensinger) Stone.
Sylvia received her early education in Mount Carmel, and was a graduate of the former Ashland High School, Ashland.
Following high school, Sylvia went on to further her education at the Pottsville Hospital School of Nursing, where she received her certification to practice as a Registered Nurse. She received further training at Pennsylvania Hospital of Philadelphia and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
Prior to retiring, Sylvia was employed as a Registered Nurse by the former Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
Sylvia was a member of Forty Fort Presbyterian Church and the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association.
A woman of many enjoyments, Sylvia especially enjoyed listening to the music of Barry Manilow and was fortunate to attend 17 of his concerts with her daughter, Karen.
In addition to her husband, Jerry, Sylvia is survived by her daughters, Karen Baum, Danville; and Cynthia Baum and her companion, William McIntosh, Dallas Township; and her sister, Elaine Stone, Ashland.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend Sylvia’s funeral service which will be celebrated on Friday, June 01, 2018, at 11:00 AM at the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, with the Reverend Thomas Morris, officiating.
Interment will follow in Memorial Shrine Cemetery, Carverton section of Kingston Township.
Family and Friends are invited to call on Friday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, at the funeral home.
