Stella A. Papciak, 96, a former resident of Exeter, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, December 22, 2013, at Manor Care Health and Rehabilitation Center, Kingston, where she was a guest for the past four years.
Her beloved husband was the late Michael Papciak, who passed away on April 22, 1972. Together, Michael and Stella shared 35 years of marriage.
Born on December 01, 1917, in Swoyersville, Stella was the daughter of the late George and Josephine (Kwiatkowski) Sisko.
Prior to her retirement, Stella was employed for many years by the former Duplan Silk Mill, Kingston. Additionally, she worked for various silk manufacturers throughout the Wyoming Valley.
A faithful Catholic, Stella was a lifelong member of the former Holy Name/Saint Mary’s Parish Community, Swoyersville. Following the consolidation of her church, she became a member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville.
One of Stella’s greatest passions in life was cooking and baking for her family. She also enjoyed working in her yard and tending to her home.
Stella was a simple, loving woman, who treasured every moment she had with her with her loved ones. The legacy Stella leaves behind is that of being a caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
In addition to her parents, George and Josephine Sisko, and her husband, Michael, Stella was preceded in death by her brothers, George and Frank Sisko; her sisters, Helen Dudacik, Laura Sisko and Anna Kazamski, who passed away on December 18th.
Stella is survived by her loving children, Elaine Smith and her husband Richard, of Swoyersville; Michael Papciak and his wife Kathy, of Plains; her grandchildren, Lori Papciak and her fiancé, Erick Siegfried, of Throop and Michael Papciak and his wife Kelli, of Coatesville; her great-grandchildren, Aiden, Bradley and Michael; her nieces and nephews.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral which will be conducted on Friday, December 27, 2013, at 9:30 AM from the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM in Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Parish, 116 Hughes Street, Swoyersville, with the Reverend Joseph J. Pisaneschi, her Pastor, officiating.
Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Swoyersville.
