Stanley J. Mackachinas, 80, a resident of Exeter, passed into eternal life on Thursday evening, May 09, 2024, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.
His loving wife is Barbara A. Pochec Mackachinas. Together, Stanley and Barbara shared 26 beautiful years of marriage.
Born on September 04, 1943, in Pittston, Stanley was one of two sons born to the late John G. Mackachinas and Anna Chepalonis Mackachinas.
Raised in Exeter, Stanley was a graduate of the former Exeter High School, Class of 1962.
Prior to his retirement, Stanley was employed for many years as an automobile mechanic. During his retirement years, he was employed part-time as a school bus driver.
Stanley was a faithful member of Corpus Christi Parish, Immaculate Conception Church, West Pittston.
An avid golfer, Stanley was a longtime member of Emanon Country Club, Falls. Although he greatly enjoyed golfing, his true passion was fishing the streams of Downsville, New York, and Roscoe, New York.
In addition to his parents, John and Anna, Stanley was preceded in death by his brother, John Mackachinas.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Barbara; his nephew, Mark Mackachinas; his niece, Jennifer Cavalari; his great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Stanley’s viewing which will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort.
Family and friends are invited to gather directly at Corpus Christi Parish, Immaculate Conception Church, 605 Luzerne Avenue, West Pittston, on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at 10:30 AM to celebrate Stanley’s Mass of Christian Burial. The Reverend Father John J. Chmil, Pastor of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville, will be the celebrant.
Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Saint Casimir’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Pittston.
