Rosemarie H. Sobol, 88, a resident of Chicago, Illinois, and a former resident of Dallas, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, July 21, 2014, at her home, surrounded by her loved ones.
Her beloved husband was the late John A. Sobol, who passed away on April 10, 1987. John and Rosemarie were blessed to share 39 years of marriage.
Born on November 27, 1925, in Larksville, Rosemarie was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (McGowan) Schultz.
Raised in Larksville, Rosemarie was a graduate of the former Larksville High School.
Rosemarie resided in the local area for the majority of her life. Shortly after her husband’s death, she relocated to Chicago to be closer to her daughters and had resided there for the past 27 years.
A homemaker most of her life, Rosemarie lovingly tended to the daily needs of her home and family.
Rosemarie was a talented trumpet player who was a longtime member of the Musicians Union, Local 140, Wilkes-Barre.
A devout Catholic, Rosemarie was a longtime member of Saint Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, Kingston. While residing in Illinois, she was a member of Saint Thomas the Apostle Church, Naperville, Illinois. Rosemarie was active with the Saint Thomas Choir, with whom she served as a musician and traveled extensively with.
Active within her community, Rosemarie was a volunteer in the Emergency Room at Edwards Hospital, Naperville, Illinois, for over twenty years.
Rosemarie will forever be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Her beautiful spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of her family.
In addition to her parents, Michael and Mary Schultz, and her husband, John, Rosemarie was preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Rose Sobol, who passed away on January 25, 2014; and also by her brother, Richard Schultz.
Rosemarie is survived by her daughter, Suzanne Hagmeyer and her husband, Thomas, of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico; her son-in-law, Rowland “Bing” Chang, Chicago, Illinois; her three grandchildren, Alex Hagmeyer and his wife, Marissa; Benjamin Chang and Sarah Chang; her sister, Dolores June and her husband, Carl, Larksville; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral which will be conducted on Saturday, July 26, 2014, at 9:00 AM from the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:30 AM in Saint Ignatius Loyola Church, 339 North Maple Avenue, Kingston.
Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Saint Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Cemetery, Pringle.
