Gary Quinn left a message on October 25, 2018:
Dear Kopec Family - Our deepest condolences on Bob’s passing. I met “Mr. Kopec” when I was working at Irem Temple, while at the same time attending Wilkes University as an accounting major. After getting to know Bob at the club and on the golf course, he offered me my first internship in accounting. I worked at the office for almost one year with Michelle and Mary Anne. After graduating from Wilkes and getting a full time job with Ernst & Young, my then girlfriend (now my wife), Cheryl Smith, took over my internship responsibilities as she was finishing up her own accounting degree at Wilkes. She then also started working at Ernst & Young. That experience at Bob’s office was instrumental in Cheryl and I securing employment and becoming CPAs. We have so many wonderful memories of Bob in the office - and myself in particular - of him at Irem. I vividly remember all of his friends, Don Stein, Ray Cecconi, Ronnie Pieczynski, etc. What fun they all had playing golf through the years and how much they all loved Bob!! So our deepest and heartfelt condolences go out to your entire family on the loss of this generous, kind and great man. Please know that he impacted our lives in an immeasurably positive way. We loved him and are very sad that the world lost another all time great person. We can never completely repay him for what he provided to Cheryl and myself. We offer our prayers that he now rests in eternal peace in heaven and that the entire Kopec family is surrounded by hope, love and friendship at this time. Sincerely, Gary and Cheryl Quinn. I was truly saddened to read of Roberts passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. You have no idea who I am, but I was the nurse that stayed with his father, Steve, when he came home for Roberts high school graduation in 1963. I took care of Steve at the Wilkes Barre General Hospital. My name then was Betty Lou Ide. I now live in Toledo, Oh. and was looking someone up when I saw Robert's picture, and knew right away who he was. I still have the newspaper clipping of that date, 55 years ago. Again I am so sorry for the loss you are now going through. May God bring you the strength and peace to carry you these difficult times. Betty Lou Graham-Mohr
