Robert L. Sager Sr., 87, a resident of Forty Fort, entered into eternal rest on Sunday afternoon, June 08, 2025, at Allied Services Hospice Center, Wilkes-Barre.
Born on March 03, 1938, in Wilkes-Barre, Robert was the son of the late Aloysius Sager and Janina “Jennie” Zielinski Sager Marino.
In 1951, he relocated to Connecticut with his mother where he married his first wife, Susan, and started a family. He resided there for many years until returning to the Wyoming Valley some years ago.
From an early age, Robert had a passion for music and he played clarinet and saxophone with several Big Bands over the years, and with his great love for polkas, he enjoyed watching Lawrence Welk reruns in his later years. He reveled in memories of past times.
In addition to his parents, Aloysius and Jennie, Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Spallino; his step-daughter, Patricia Ann “Trish” Sweeney.
Leaving this world with much love from family and close friends, Robert is survived by his sons, Robert Sager, West Haven, Connecticut; and Steven Sager, Irvine, California; his grandsons, Matthew, Benjamin, and Nicholas Sager; his step-granddaughters, Karli-Rose Cimino and Lily Cimino; and his step-great-grandchildren Giovanni Barbose and Elizabeth Barbose; and his dearest friend and neighbor, Harvey Kempler.
Private funeral services were entrusted to the care of the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, with burial in East Lawn Cemetery, East Haven, Connecticut.
