Robert G. Yanchick, 91, a lifelong resident of Swoyersville, passed into eternal life on Tuesday morning, February 09, 2021, at Allied Services Center City, Wilkes-Barre, where he was recently a guest.
His beloved wife was the late Dolores M. (Howatch) Yanchick. Together, Robert and Dolores shared 66 beautiful years of marriage.
Born on October 11, 1929, in Swoyersville, Robert was one of three sons born to the late Michael and Josephine (Begany) Yanchick.
Robert was a graduate of the former Swoyersville High School, and prior to his retirement, he was employed for 36 years as a delivery man for the Tastykake Baking Company, having an independent route covering the greater Wilkes-Barre and Kingston area.
A faithful Catholic, Robert was a lifelong member of the former Holy Trinity Church, Swoyersville, where he served as an usher, and served as a basketball coach at its former grade school. He looked forward to the church’s annual bazaar and volunteered at every one in various capacities over the years. Following the consolidation of his church, he became a member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville.
Robert had many enjoyments in life, especially fishing, gardening, helping his son, Gerard, at his former business, Valley Outboard; and helping his son, Larry, and his business, Alexandra Electric.
Above all, Robert will be best remembered for his strong faith in God, and the love and devotion he had for his family. Although his presence will be deeply missed, there is much joy in knowing he is reunited in Heaven with his beloved wife and all his family and friends who have gone before him.
In addition to his parents, Michael and Josephine Yanchick, and his wife, Dolores, Robert was preceded in death by his brothers, William and Richard Yanchick.
Robert is survived by his four children Gerard Yanchick and his wife, Denise, Swoyersville; Maria Koval and her husband, Tom, Swoyersville; Lorraine Stuccio and her husband, Joseph, Swoyersville; and Larry Yanchick, Swoyersville; his grandchildren, Anthony, Gregory and Jude Koval; Raphael Stuccio and his wife, Ashley; Victoria Stuccio Gromek and her husband, Adam; and Alexandra Yanchick; and his great-grandchildren, Chelsie, Gino and Giuliana Stuccio; and Noelle Gromek; as well as his numerous nieces and nephews.
