Robert D. Vinsko, 78, a resident of Swoyersville, fell asleep in the Lord on Thursday morning, August 04, 2022, at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Inpatient Unit, Dunmore.
His beloved wife was the late Geraldine “Gerri” Mucha Vinsko, who passed away on January 05, 2016. Together, Bob and Gerri shared 50 beautiful years of marriage.
Born on August 26, 1943, in Swoyersville, Robert was one of four children born to the late Theodore Vinsko and Madeline Kisheda Vinsko.
A lifelong resident of Swoyersville, Bob was a graduate of the former Swoyersville High School, Class of 1961.
Prior to his retirement, Bob was employed by the former Aureus Ltd., West Pittston. In his earlier years, he was employed by the former Muskin Pools, Wilkes-Barre, and the former M. Robzen Meat Packaging Company, Swoyersville.
Bob was a life-member of Saint Nicholas of Myra Byzantine Catholic Church, Swoyersville. He was also a life-member of the Paradise Social Club, Swoyersville.
A man of many enjoyments, Bob especially enjoyed rooting on his favorite team, the Penn State Nittany Lions; spending Sundays at home with his family and friends; going on cruises and taking day trips to Knoebels Amusement Park with his family; hunting; and attending Wyoming Valley West’s Friday night football games. He was also a great lover of dogs, especially his beloved black lab, Buster, who was certainly there with his wife, Gerri, to greet Bob in heaven.
Above all, his greatest love in life was for his family and he cherished every moment he shared with his loved ones. His grandchildren were the light of his life – each of them held a special place in his heart.
Bob is survived by his daughters, Wendy Vinsko, Swoyersville; Leslie Hospodar and her husband, Chris, Swoyersville; and Jennifer Saltz, Swoyersville; his grandchildren, Joshua, Zachary, Carter, and Cole Hospodar; and Robert and Evelyn Saltz; his brother, Theodore Vinsko, Bulgaria; his sisters, Shirley Pollick and her husband, Joseph, Swoyersville, and Paulette Lopuhovsky and her husband, Andrew, Swoyersville; as well as his numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend their sincerest gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Hospice of the Sacred Heart for all they did to give Bob peace and comfort during his final days.
