Rita Skapura, 77, a resident of Swoyersville, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 27, 2013, at her home.
Born on July 17, 1936, in Wilkes-Barre, Rita was the daughter of the late John Skapura and the former Rita (Conrad) Skapura.
Raised in Wilkes-Barre, Rita was a graduate of the former Saint Nicholas High School, Wilkes-Barre.
Prior to her retirement, Rita was employed as an office manager for Cornell Iron Works, Wilkes-Barre.
Rita was a member of Saint Nicholas Roman Catholic Church, Wilkes-Barre.
A woman of many enjoyments, Rita especially enjoyed spending time with her loved ones and listening to the music of Frank Sinatra.
In addition to her parents, John and Rita Longfoot, Rita was also preceded in death by a brother, James Longfoot.
Rita is survived by her brothers, John Skapura and his wife Rosanne, of Ruston, Louisiana; David Longfoot and his wife Maureen, of Kingston and; her sister, Carol Biebel, of Wilkes-Barre; her dear cousins, Dr. Jack Wayno and Dr. Gail Wayno; her nieces and nephews.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Mass which will be celebrated on Thursday, October 10, 2013, at 11:00 AM in Saint Nicholas Church, 226 South Washington Street, Wilkes-Barre.
Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Family and Friends are invited to join the family for a memorial visitation on Wednesday evening, October 09, 2013, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort.
