Rita Rusnak, died on Tuesday, September 2nd. She gracefully lived with cancer for 26 years.She was preceded in death by her father, John Kmetz; her mother, Kathryn Boback Kmetz; and her husband, of 52 years, Carl S. Rusnak.She is survived by her daughters: Jeanne(Gene)Fehskens of Centerville, OH; Susan(Drew)Long of Huron, OH; grandsons: Andrew (Laura) Fehskens of Centerville, OH; Michael Fehskens of Columbus OH; Nicholas Long of San Diego, CA.; and Steven Long of Lyndhurst, OH.Rita, born Sept 10, 1924, lived in Swoyersville, and then moved to Dallas in 1973 after her home was flooded during hurricane Agnes.She earned a business degree at Wyoming Seminary, worked at Forty Fort Bank and then at the United Pants Company as a cutting room clerk.She was a devoted volunteer at her church, St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, in Swoyersville. She was in the Mothers Club, Altar and Rosary Society, a pirohi maker and also was a Girl Scout leader.After retirement, she traveled with her husband and then returned to work part-time in the bursar’s office of Penn State University, Lehman. After retiring again, she began new volunteer work with the Commission for Economic Opportunity, R.S.V.P., Salvation Army, Back Mountain Library, and the Kirby Center of Performing Arts.She was very active with the Swoyersville Senior Citizens and Lilies of the Valley Red Hat Society.In 2011 she moved to Bethany Lutheran Village in Centerville Ohio, to be closer to family. There she quickly made friends with others in the Bethany community. She faithfully attended the Catholic masses and started a rosary prayer group.She, with her husband Carl, helped create a legacy called the Rusnak Family Reunion. A celebration of family where the descendants of Julia Fosko and Andrew Rusnak meet each summer and have been doing so for 65 consecutive years.If you would like to honor Rita’s spirit, carry on her love of family and devotion in prayer; Honor friendship, Celebrate family, Live life!Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend Rita’s visitation which will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2014, from 10:30 AM until 12:00 PM, at the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort.
