Pia Innocenti Selecky, 95, a resident of Kingston Township, passed into eternal life on Saturday morning, June 05, 2021, at her home, surrounded by her family.
Her husband was the late Eugene Selecky who passed away on October 28, 1990. Together, Eugene and Pia shared 42 years of marriage.
Born on September 14, 1925, in Swoyersville, Pia was one of three daughters born to the late John and Julia Fronzoni Innocenti.
She was a graduate of the former Swoyersville High School, Class of 1943. Following high school, Pia went on to attend College Misericordia where she attained her Bachelor’s Degree in 1947. She was so very proud to be a college graduate in a time when it was uncommon for women to receive a college degree.
Pia began her 34-year career as a home economics teacher at the former Swoyersville High School, then completed her career at the Wyoming Valley West Middle School. She retired to care for her granddaughters and she would want everyone to know that caring for them was the most important thing she ever did with her life. They have since given her four great-grandchildren and she adored each of them.
Pia was known to be an outstanding cook, baker, and seamstress. Her family was the center of her life, and she will forever be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Pia is survived by her daughter, Mary Jean Mullins and her husband, Patrick, Kingston Township; her granddaughters, Katie Mullins and her fiancé, Jay Williams; and Jennifer Pierich and her husband, Chris; her great-grandchildren, Lily, Jacob, Henry, and Penelope; her sisters, Norma Warmouth, Forty Fort; and Corinne Yarmel, Vestal, New York; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend a memorial visitation which will be held on Monday, June 21, 2021, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at 10:00 AM in Saint Therese Church, 64 Davis Street, Shavertown, with the Reverend James J. Paisley, her Pastor, officiating. Family and Friends may assemble directly at the church on Tuesday morning.
Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in the Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville.
