Peter Paul Yurchision, 71, a resident of Shavertown, passed away on Thursday morning, July 02, 2020, at his home.
His wife is Maria (Nardone) Yurchision. Peter and Maria were married on January 27, 1984, and together raised their two children, Pete and Amy.
Born on April 27, 1949, in Wilkes-Barre, Peter was the son of the late Peter and Alice (Olesky) Yurchision.
Raised in Swoyersville, Peter was a graduate of Wyoming Valley High School, Class of 1967, and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Penn State University in 1969.
Prior to retiring, Peter was employed for over 20 years by Proctor & Gamble, and was also employed for some years by General Dynamics.
Peter was a volunteer paramedic in Dallas; served as Assistant Scoutmaster to Troop 155 of Trucksville; and was a life-long Penguins fan. His passion for repairing model trains made him a proud member of the Back Mountain Rail Road Club.
In addition to his wife, Maria, Peter is survived by his two children, Pete Yurchision and his wife, Carlie, Scranton; and Amy Yurchision, Shavertown; his sister, Alice Pualuan and her husband Dr. Munir, Los Gatos, California; his nieces, nephews, and several cousins.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation which will be held on Thursday, July 09, 2020, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, at the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort. A memorial service will commence at 7:00 PM with Chaplain Gerlin Valencia, of Allied Services Integrated Health Systems, officiating.
In keeping with federal and state guidelines arising from the COVID-19 virus, those attending the visitation and memorial service are required to wear a face covering and observe social distancing. These guidelines will be strictly enforced by the funeral home.
