Pauline “Polly” Konopka, 77, a resident of Swoyersville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, on Wednesday morning, November 05, 2014, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.Her beloved husband was the late John J. Konopka, who passed away on April 02, 2002. Together, John and Pauline shared 40 beautiful years of marriage.Born on November 11, 1936, in Luzerne, Pauline was the daughter of the late Steven and Susan (Brunsko) Brdaric.Prior to her retirement, Pauline was employed in the local garment industry. Throughout her years of working, and even after retiring, she was a devoted homemaker to her family.A faithful Catholic, Pauline was a member of Holy Family Roman Catholic Parish, Luzerne. Additionally, Pauline was a longtime member of the Red Hat Society.Pauline had a true zest for life. She loved to travel, and especially enjoyed taking family vacations to the beach and Disney World.Family was the center of Pauline’s life and she treasured the every moment she had with her loved ones. She held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her eyes would light up when her great-grandchildren affectionately called her “GG”.In addition to her parents, Steven and Susan Brdaric, and her husband, John, Pauline was preceded in death by her brothers, Steven, Mickey and John Brdaric; her sisters, Marion Evans and Susan Ciehoski.Pauline is survived by her children, Susan Deeble and her husband, Bruce, Shavertown; and John Konopka and his wife, Lisa, Swoyersville; her grandchildren, Heather and her husband, Keith Bedell, Westfield, New Jersey; and Bruce Deeble, Saint Augustine, Florida; her great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Delaney Bedell; her sisters, Eleanor Hann, Kingston; and Milly Pipan, Dallas; her many nieces, nephews and friends; and her beloved cat, Charlie.The family would like to thank Dr. William Hottenstein, Dr. Robert Potorski, and Tony Raineri and Mary Ann from the Medicine Shop, Luzerne, for their wonderful care. The family would also like to thank all the family and friends of Pauline who were a great support to her over the years.Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral which will be conducted on Saturday, November 08, 2014, at 9:30 AM from the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM in Holy Family Roman Catholic Parish, 574 Bennett Street, Luzerne, with the Reverend Michael J.
