Olga T. Cajka, 94, formerly of Swoyersville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday evening, September 26, 2016, at the home of her daughter, Natalie Shoemaker, in Wyoming.
Her beloved husband was the late Frank “Heinie” Cajka who passed away on September 05, 1980.
Born on March 23, 1922, in Swoyersville, Olga was one of seven children born to the late Boris and Anna (Gutch) Tribus.
Olga was a homemaker most of her life. She was a loving and dedicated mother who was proud of being able to stay home and raise her family.
A faithful Catholic, Olga was originally a member of Saint Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Swoyersville. After marrying her beloved Frank, she joined his lifelong church, the former Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Swoyersville, where she was a member of the church’s Confraternity of Christian Mothers, and was active with the making of pirohy for the annual church festival and other fundraisers. Following the consolidation, she became a member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville.
For many years, Olga enjoyed being an active member of the Swoyersville Senior Citizens Club.
Olga had many enjoyments in life, most especially cooking for her family, playing bingo, and trying her luck at the casino.
Family was of the utmost importance to Olga’s throughout her life, and she considered herself blessed to be able to share so many wonderful years with children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Although her presence will be deeply missed, her beautiful spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of her loved ones.
In addition to her parents, Boris and Anna Tribus, and her husband, Frank, Olga was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Jeanne Marie Cajka; her brothers, William, Paul and Steven Tribus; her sister, Helen Kolojejchick; her infant sister, Maria Tribus; and her son-in-law, Joseph Chorey.
Olga is survived by her children, Natalie Shoemaker and her husband, John, Wyoming; Dorothea French, Swoyersville; Barbara Chorey, Larksville; and Rosanne Griffin and her husband, Greg, Swoyersville; and Francis “Sonny” Cajka, Swoyersville; her grandchildren, Darryl, Jeanne, Holly, Josh, Melissa, Doug, Amy, Joseph, Colleen, Danielle, Lauren and Tim; her 11 great-grandchildren; her 1 great-great granddaughter; her sister, Anna Broda and her husband, George, New Castle, Delaware; as well as generations of nieces and nephews.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral which will be conducted on Friday, September 30, 2016, at 9:30 AM from the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM in Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 116 Hughes Street, Swoyersville, with the Reverend Joseph J. Pisaneschi, her Pastor, officiating.
Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Cemetery, Swoyersville.
Family and Friends are invited to call on Thursday, September 29, 2016, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, at the funeral home.
The Confraternity of Christians Mothers of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish will recite the Rosary on Friday morning at 9:30 AM, at the church.
