Normajean G. Wroblewski, passed peacefully in the company of her children during the early morning hours of Friday, December 29, 2023, at Danbury Hospital, Danbury, Connecticut.
She and her husband, Joseph L. Wroblewski, celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary on June 26, 2023.
Born in Nanticoke, Normajean was one of five children born to the late Joseph F. Kozicki and Jean B. Gutkowski Kozicki.
Raised in Ashley, Normajean was a graduate of the former Ashley High School and the former Wilkes-Barre General Hospital School of Nursing.
Beginning her career as a registered nurse, Normajean eventually left the nursing field to work side-by-side with her husband in the operation of their family funeral businesses, Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., Forty Fort, and the former Joseph L. Wroblewski Funeral Home, Ashley, until their retirement. Known for her gentle nature, compassion, and finesse, Normajean was an advocate for every single family she and Joe served.
Deeply rooted in her Catholic faith, Normajean had a special devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, and was a longtime member of the former Holy Family Church, Sugar Notch.
In addition to her parents, Joseph and Jean Kozicki, Normajean was preceded in death by her sister, Loraine Kozicki Owens; her brothers, Theodore Kozicki and David Kozicki; her sons-in-law, Leon Wendelowski and Bryan Demerly; her daughter-in-law, Heide Lauck; and her nephew, Mark Kozicki.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Joseph, and their four children, Joseph B. Wroblewski and wife, Genevieve, Hillsborough, North Carolina; Lisa Wroblewski Howland and husband, Gary, Newtown, Connecticut; Eric A. Wroblewski, Naples, Florida; and Marla Wroblewski Demerly and Gregg Fagan, Columbia, South Carolina; grandchildren, Genevieve Wroblewski and husband, Daniel Sawyers; Christa Wroblewski and husband, Zachary Huckle-Bauer; Brett Krumins and girlfriend, Alexandra Johnson; Erik Krumins; Eric Wroblewski and wife, Minna Tran; Bryanna Demerly Litz and husband, Justin; Matthew Demerly and wife, MaryKatherine; Joseph Demerly Bell and husband, James; Catherine Conroy and husband, Ben; and Tyler Lauck; great-grandchildren, Maddie and Callie Sawyers; J.J. Huckle-Bauer; K.J. Demerly; Antonyio Bell; and Luke, Cole, and Rex Conroy; brother, Thomas Kozicki, Nanticoke; sister-in-law, Rosemarie Kozicki, Milton; her aunt, E. Barbara Jones, Fairburn, Georgia; as well as her nephews, Kevin Kozicki, Brian Kozicki, and Paul Babitz; and friends.
A private family viewing was followed by a Blessing Service celebrated by her cousin, the Reverend Father Gerald J. Gurka, Pastor of Saint John the Baptist Church, Larksville, and All Saints Parish, Plymouth.
Interment with the Rite of Committal followed in Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to the care of her successors, Aaron W. Pietryka and Thomas B. Wiedlich, at the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort.
