Nellie (Konopka) Zannetti, 86, a resident of Swoyersville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, April 15, 2015, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.Her loving husband is Joseph Zannetti. Together, Joseph and Nellie shared 66 wonderful years of marriage.Born on December 06, 1928, in Swoyersville, Nellie was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Rozmus) Konopka.Nellie was a graduate of the former Swoyersville High School, Class of 1947.A homemaker most of her life, Nellie was employed for some time as a seamstress in the local garment industry.Nellie was a faithful Catholic and member of Holy Family Roman Catholic Parish, Luzerne. She was a past member of the former Saint Mary of Czestochowa Church, Swoyersville.A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Nellie’s life revolved around her family. A doting grandmother, she was always there for her grandsons, and greatly enjoyed cheering them on at all their sporting events.The Zannetti Family wishes to thank the 5th Floor P.C.U. and I.C.U. medical staff at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, for their kind and compassionate care in keeping Nellie comfortable during her time of need. Also, they would like to thank the paramedics from the Swoyersville Ambulance Association for always being there when the family needed them most.In addition to her parents, John and Mary Konopka, Nellie was preceded in death by her brothers, Philip, Anthony and John Konopka; her sisters, Josephine Cegilka, Sophie Patterson and Caroline Rakos.In addition to her husband, Joseph, Nellie is survived by her children, Joann Zannetti, at home; and Joseph Zannetti Jr. and his wife, Paula, Nanticoke; her grandsons, Joseph Zannetti, and twins, Paul and Brian Zannetti, all of Nanticoke; her sisters, Anna Stefanko and Mary Cebrick, both of Swoyersville; numerous nieces and nephews.Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral which will be conducted on Monday, April 20, 2015, at 9:30 AM from the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM in Holy Family Roman Catholic Parish, 574 Bennett Street, Luzerne, with the Reverend Michael J.
