Nathanael A. “Nate” Smith, 23, a resident of Mountaintop, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, March 16, 2022, at his home.
Born on October 18, 1998, in Kingston, Nathanael was the son of Joanne Powell-Smith, Mountain Top, and the late Sergeant First Class, H. Allen Smith, U.S. Army, Retired, who passed away on April 07, 2019.
Raised in Mountain Top, Nate was a graduate of Crestwood High School, Class of 2017, where he was a member of his high school football team. He furthered his education at Luzerne County Community College.
Nate was a die-hard sports fan and was known to be able to quote sport statistics from any time. Some of his favorite teams were the Jacksonville Jaguars, Alabama Crimson Tide, Miami Heat, and Manchester City Football (Soccer). He also had a great love for all types of music, and enjoyed a good political debate.
Kind-hearted and loyal, Nate always saw the good in others. He was a loving and devoted son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend – his wonderful qualities will live on forever in the hearts of his loved ones.
In addition to his father, H. Allen Smith, Nate was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James “Sam” Powell and Janet Fritz Powell; and his paternal grandparents, Herbert Smith and Hazel King Smith Langley.
In addition to his mother, Joanne Powell-Smith, Nate is survived by his brothers, Nicholas Powell, Allentown; and James Smith and his wife, Kristina, North Carolina; his sister, Kristina Smith, North Carolina; his nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; and his faithful dog, his German Shepherd, Millie.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend Nate’s funeral service which will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at 11:00 AM at the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, with the Reverend Marcelle Dotson, family friend, officiating.
Family and Friends are invited to Nate’s viewing which will be held on Monday, March 21, 2022, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, and again on Tuesday morning from 10:30 to 11:00 AM, at the funeral home.
