Nancy K. Grasso, 78, a resident of the Carverton Heights section of Kingston Township, passed away into eternal life on Sunday evening, March 24, 2013, at the Little Flower Manor, Wilkes-Barre, where she was a guest for the past week.
Her beloved husband was the late Angelo J. Grasso, who passed away on January 09, 2013. Angelo and Nancy were united in marriage on April 25, 1959 in Saint Aloysius Church, Wilkes-Barre and together they shared 53 wonderful years.
Born on July 26, 1934 in Wilkes-Barre, Nancy was the daughter of the late Henry and Geraldine (Williams) Klose.
Raised in Wilkes-Barre, Nancy was a graduate of E.L. Meyers High School, Wilkes-Barre.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved her family and tended to their needs faithfully during her lifetime. A wonderful homemaker, Nancy especially enjoyed cooking and hosting family gatherings before her health began to fail.
Nancy was a member of Saint Frances X. Cabrini Church, Carverton Heights.
In addition to her parents, Henry and Geraldine Klose, Nancy was preceded in death by her sisters, Theresa Donahue and Jean Sabulski.
Nancy and Angelo were blessed by three loving daughters and their families, Susan Whorley and her husband Dale, of Virginia; Connie Doyle and her husband Joseph, of Mountaintop; Molly Shane and her husband Greg, of Philadelphia; her grandchildren, Kendall Mitchem and her husband Billy; Taylor Whorley, Conor Doyle, Thomas (T.J.) Doyle, Ryan Doyle and Levi Shane; her great-grandson, Shawn Mitchem; numerous nieces and nephews.
A Private Family Blessing Service for Nancy will be held on Holy Thursday, March 28, 2013, with the Reverend Vincent Dang, pastor of Saint Frances X. Cabrini Church, Carverton Heights, officiating.
Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Mount Olivet Roman Catholic Cemetery, Carverton.
There will be no public calling hours.
