Nancy J. Rood, 78, a resident of Kingston, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Sunday afternoon, May 17, 2015, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.Her loving husband is Alan G. Rood. Together, Alan and Nancy celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on June 28, 2014.Born on May 28, 1936, in Nanticoke, Nancy was the daughter of the late Clement and Lillian (Hill) Levanda.Raised in Nanticoke, Nancy was a graduate of Nanticoke High School, Class of 1955. Following high school, she furthered her education at the former Wilkes-Barre Business College. During her career, she took various banking courses at Luzerne County Community College, Nanticoke.For twenty years, Nancy was employed as a data entry clerk in the operation center of First Eastern Bank, later PNC Bank, Wilkes-Barre. Later, she was employed as an administrative assistant for U.S. Foodservice, Inc., Plains Township, retiring from there.Nancy cherished her grandchildren and she held a special place in her heart for each of them. She enjoyed attending all of her grandchildren’s sporting events, and making their Halloween costumes. She also had a great love for her 4-legged grandbabies.Nancy was known for her cooking and baking, and no one could ever duplicate her nut and poppy seed rolls. She was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone, and was a devoted caregiver to her older sister, Florence. Although her presence will be deeply missed, she will forever be remembered as a loving and wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.In addition to her parents, Clement and Lillian Levanda, Nancy was preceded in death by her sister, Elizabeth Sawka.In addition to her husband, Alan, Nancy leaves behind her three children, Gail Reimard and her husband, John, Harveys Lake; Beth Ann Pacovsky and her husband, Tony, Kingston; and Alan R. Rood and his wife, Kenley, Forty Fort; her grandchildren, Christina Keogh and her husband, Jeremy; Janice Reimard; Mackenzie Rood; and Colin Rood; her great-grandson, Aiden Reimard; her brother, Robert Levanda, Ashley; her sister, Florence Davis, Larksville; her nieces, nephews, and friends.Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend Nancy’s funeral service which will be celebrated on Thursday, May 21, 2015, at 10:00 AM, at the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, with the Reverend Dr. Philip T.
