Mildred M. Krakosky, a resident of Swoyersville, passed quietly into eternal life on Sunday morning, October 23, 2016, at her home.
Her beloved husband was the late Frank J. Krakosky, who passed away on November 21, 2008. Together, Frank and Millie shared 59 beautiful years of marriage.
Born on May 29, 1927, in Swoyersville, Mildred was the only daughter of the late Gus and Helen (Adamchak) Charney.
Millie was a graduate of the former Swoyersville High School, Class of 1945.
A devoted homemaker, Millie lovingly tended to the daily needs of her home and family for the majority of her life.
Millie was a faithful Catholic and a lifelong member of the former Holy Trinity Church, Swoyersville, where she held membership with the church’s Confraternity of Christian Mothers. Following the consolidation, she became a member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville.
First and foremost, Millie was a loving, caring, and supportive wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her life revolved around her family, and she never missed an opportunity to spend time with her loved ones.
Over the years, Millie and Frank greatly enjoyed entertaining in their home. Whether it was a holiday, a special event, a simple get together, or a meeting of one of Millie’s three card clubs, the Krakosky home was the place to be!
No matter if it was an extended vacation or a day trip, Millie loved to travel! It was known that Millie was always ready to pick up and go in a moment’s notice, and she was famous for being able to fully pack a suitcase in five minutes flat! She never passed up the opportunity to go to lunch with her family and friends or to play the slots at Mohegan Sun or the Atlantic City casinos.
Although Millie’s presence will be deeply missed, she leaves behind a wonderful legacy of love, friendship, and laughter – a legacy that will forever live on in the hearts of her loved ones.
Millie is survived by her five children: Ronald Krakosky and his wife Ruthie, Shavertown; Karen Mae Krakosky, Swoyersville; Kenneth Krakosky and his wife Alison, Wilkes-Barre; Jayne Ann Ruger and her husband Hugh, Swoyersville; and Nancy Brown and her husband Edward, Harding; her eleven grandchildren, Jena, Norah and her husband Chris, Jillian and her husband Robbie, Jessica, Patrick, Laura and her husband Jason, Andrea, Erica, Matthew, Macawley, and Victoria; her three great-grandchildren: Audrey, Maeve, and Zebadiah; as well as her many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their most sincere thanks to all of the nurses and aides from Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Associated Family Home Care, and Platinum Private Duty, for the outstanding and compassionate care they bestowed upon Millie during her time of need.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Millie’s viewing, which will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2016, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, at the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at 10:00 AM in Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 116 Hughes Street, Swoyersville, with the Reverend Richard J. Cirba, family friend, officiating.
