On Wednesday evening, September 25, 2024, Mildred C. Walsh, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, a resident of Kingston, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home at the age of 94.
Her beloved husband of nearly 67 years was the late Robert G. Walsh, who passed away on August 05, 2017.
Born on January 23, 1930, in Scranton, Mildred was the youngest of seven children born to the late Peter P. Schneider and Mary S. Woelkers Schneider.
Raised in Scranton, Mildred was a graduate of the former Saint Mary’s High School, Scranton, and was the valedictorian of her graduating class.
Prior to her retirement in 1991, Mildred was employed by Pennsylvania Millers Mutual Insurance Company, Wilkes-Barre.
A woman of great faith, Mildred was a longtime member of Saint Ignatius Loyola Church, Kingston.
In addition to her parents, Peter Schneider and Mary Woelkers Schneider, and her husband, Robert, Mildred was preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph, Raymond, Leo, Bernard, and Paul Schneider; sister, Mary Schneider; son-in-law, Bill Opet; and unborn baby grandchild Scheidel.
Left to cherish her memory are her seven daughters, Ruth Scheidel (Joseph); Janet Socquet (David); Nancy Opet; Donna Lombardo (Salvatore); Teresa Walsh (Mark Thomas); Mary Helen Dogal (Michael); and Karen Mahon (Mark); her 18 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Mildred’s viewing which will be held on Thursday, October 03, 2024, from 4:30 to 7:30 PM at the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort.
A Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Friday, October 04, 2024, at 10:00 AM in St. Ignatius Loyola Church, 339 North Maple Avenue, Kingston, with the Reverend Father Alex Roche, officiating. Those attending the funeral Mass are asked to assemble directly at the church on Friday morning.
Private Entombment with the Rite of Committal will follow in the Mary, Mother of God Mausoleum of Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Hanover Township.
