Mary Barbara Raykovitz Williams, 89, formerly of the Mayflower section of Wilkes-Barre and in later years, Kingston, passed into eternal life on Thursday morning, October 28, 2021, at Saint Joseph Villa, Flourtown, where she had been a resident for the past four years.
Born on March 31, 1932, in Wilkes-Barre, Mary was one of eight children born to the late John T. Raykovitz and Mary B. Geffert Raykovitz. Raised in the Mayflower section of Wilkes-Barre, Mary was a graduate of the former Marymount High School, Class of 1950.
Prior to her retirement, Mary was employed for 24 years as a saleswoman in the women’s shoe department at Boscov’s Department Store, Wilkes-Barre.
A woman of strong faith, Mary was a lifelong member of Saint Mary’s Church of the Maternity, now, Our Lady of Hope Parish, Wilkes-Barre.
In addition to her parents, John and Mary Raykovitz, Mary was preceded in death by her former husband, Donald Williams; her brothers, Corporal Raymond Raykovitz, U.S. Marine Corps, who was killed in action while serving in the Pacific Theatre during World War II; Frank Raykovitz, John Raykovitz, and Bernard Raykovitz; and her sister, Rita Galanti.
Mary is survived by her two children, Donald J. Williams and his wife, Janine Drogalis Williams, Harleysville; and Diana LeVasseur and her husband, Dennis, Chester Springs; her four grandchildren, Lauren Regal and her husband, Chris; Andrew LeVasseur and his wife, Lori, and great-granddaughter, Everly; Lisa Williams; and Bryan Williams; her brother, Stanley Raykovitz and his wife, Jean, Yardley; and sister, Helen Bolacker, Hudson section of Plains Township; as well as her numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral which will be conducted on Friday, November 05, 2021, at 9:15 AM, from the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Hope Parish, Saint Mary’s Church of the Maternity, 40 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, with the Reverend John S. Terry, her Pastor, officiating.
Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Saint Mary the Maternity Roman Catholic Cemetery, West Wyoming.
Family and friends are also invited to Mary’s viewing which will be held on Thursday, November 04, 2021, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, at the funeral home.
