Mary Ann Hyzenski, 95, a former resident of Swoyersville, passed away on Monday morning, October 01, 2018, at the Highland Manor Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Exeter.
Her beloved husband was the late John Hyzenski, who passed away in 1989.
Born on September 18, 1923, in Exeter, Mary Ann was the daughter of the late Charles and Rose (Matulanis) Dombrauskas.
Mary Ann was a graduate of the former Exeter High School, Class of 1941.
A homemaker most of her life, Mary Ann lovingly tended to the daily needs of her family. She was devoted to caring for her husband, children and grandchildren.
Mary Ann was a devout Catholic, and a past member of the former Holy Name of Jesus Church, Swoyersville. Following the closing of her church, she became a member of Saint Barbara’s Parish (Saint Cecelia’s Church), Exeter.
For many years, Mary Ann volunteered to clean the vestments and sacramental cloths for Holy Name of Jesus Church, Swoyersville, and Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, Dushore.
Mary Ann was a 54 year member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion, Andrew Lawrence Post 644, Swoyersville.
A woman of many enjoyments, Mary Ann especially enjoyed cooking and baking for her family, and flower gardening around her home.
In addition to her parents, Charles and Rose Dombrauskas, and her husband, John, Mary Ann was preceded in death by her son, John Hyzenski; her granddaughter, Heather Hyzenski; and her sisters, Frances Shoppel, Rose Hetro, Ann Davala, and Josephine Fialko.
Mary Ann is survived by her children, Thomas Hyzenski and his wife, Lynda, Harding; and Theresa Ann Hyzenski, Bloomsburg; her grandchildren, Amy Clancy, Josh Pendolphia, and Adam Pendolphia; her eight great-grandchildren; and generations of nieces and nephews.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Mass which will be celebrated on Saturday, October 06, 2018, at 9:30 AM in Saint Barbara’s Parish at Saint Anthony of Padua Church, 28 Memorial Avenue, Exeter.
Those attending the Funeral Mass are asked to assemble directly at the church on Saturday morning.
