Mary A. Makos, 83, a resident of South Wilkes-Barre, passed into eternal life surrounded by her loving children on Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, following a brief illness.

Her beloved husband was the late Chester J. Makos, who passed away on February 08, 2018. Together, Chester and Mary shared nearly 63 wonderful years of marriage.

Born on June 18, 1935, in Nanticoke, Mary was one of six children born to the late William Vincent Sr. and Mary (Wojciechowski) Vincent.

Raised in Nanticoke, Mary was a graduate of Nanticoke High School.

A homemaker most of her life, Mary was employed in her younger years by the former Atwater Throwing Company and the General Cigar Company.

Mary was a longtime member of the former Saint Mary’s Nativity Church, Plymouth, and was presently a member of All Saints Parish, Plymouth.

A woman of many enjoyments, Mary especially enjoyed playing bingo, watching the Game Show Network, working crossword puzzles, and polka dancing with her husband.

A loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Mary was devoted to her family. Her great-grandchildren were the “apples of her eye” and she was blessed to be an integral part of their lives. Although her presence will be deeply missed, the legacy she leaves behind will continue to live on in the hearts of her loved ones.

In addition to her parents, William and Mary Vincent, and her husband, Chester, Mary was preceded in death by her brothers, William Vincent Jr. and Jack Vincent.

Mary is survived by her three children, Diane Cebrick and her husband, Barry, Larksville; Chester J. Makos Jr., Wilkes-Barre; and Steven Makos and his wife, Elaine, Phoenix, Arizona; her five grandchildren, Christopher Cebrick and his wife, Jennifer; Cassandra Cebrick; Craig Cebrick and his wife, Janel; Steven Makos and his wife, Brianna; and Jillian Lange and her husband, Dakota; her six great-grandchildren, Mason, Anthony, Matthew, Aiden, Addison, and Gianna, with her seventh great-grandchild, a boy, due in February; her brother, Robert Vincent and his wife, Rosie, Nanticoke; her sisters, Ruth Oltra, Nanticoke; and Carol Kirschner, Nanticoke; as well as her many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend Mary’s Blessing Service which will be celebrated on Monday, October 22, 2018, at 7:30 PM, at the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort.

Family and Friends are invited to Mary’s viewing on Monday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 PM, at the funeral home.

Interment will be held privately on Tuesday morning in Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, where Mary will be laid to rest with her beloved Chester.
