Marie D. Levitski, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, of Forty Fort, passed into eternal life on Thursday, July 07, 2022, at the Wesley Village Campus, Jenkins Township.
Her loving husband is John L. Levitski with whom Marie recently celebrated their anniversary on March 2nd.
Born in Swoyersville, Marie was the daughter of the late Stephen and Helen Dimple Sapack.
Marie was a graduate of the former Swoyersville High School and Wyoming Valley Hospital School of Nursing, Wilkes-Barre.
Following graduation, Marie served in the Cadet Nurse Corps and was later employed as a registered nurse at the former Wyoming Valley Hospital, Wilkes-Barre, for several years prior to raising her family.
A devout Catholic, Marie was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity Church, now Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville, holding membership with its Confraternity of Christian Mothers.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Stephen and Helen Sapack, and her brothers, Corporal James Sapack, who was killed in action in the Korean War; and William Sapak.
In addition to her husband, John, Marie is survived by her children, Marie (Art) Baird, Shavertown; Janet (John) Bauman, Lehman Township; John M. (Kathy) Levitski, Virginia; Stephen Levitski, Maryland; and James Levitski, Kingston; her grandchildren, Jennifer Bauman (Seth Wilschutz); Laura Bauman (Alex Castro); Sarah Levitski; Jaime Levitski; and Kari Glosser; her great-grandchildren, Philippa Arden Wilschutz; Charlie Rose Castro; and Rory Joan Castro; her sister, Joan Zim, Swoyersville; and her nieces and nephews.
The Levitski Family wishes to extend their sincerest gratitude to the nurses, aides, and staff of the Wesley Village for the wonderful care they bestowed upon Marie, and also to the nurses from Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their exceptional care during Marie’s final days.
In keeping with Marie’s wishes, the viewing and funeral service were private. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday in Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville, with the Reverend Father Joseph J. Pisaneschi, her Pastor, officiating. Interment with the Rite of Committal followed in Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Cemetery, Swoyersville.
