Marguerite “Marjorie” Krogulski, 88, formerly of Arlington Road, Forty Fort, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, January 02, 2014, surrounded by her loving family.
Her beloved husband was the late Edward J. Krogulski, who passed away on December 28, 2001. Together, Edward and Marjorie shared 55 beautiful years of marriage.
Born on April 02, 1925, in Swoyersville, Marjorie was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Breha) Hovan.
Raised in Swoyersville, Marjorie was a graduate of the former Swoyersville High School, Class of 1943.
Marjorie and her husband, Edward, were the proprietors of Shep’s Beverages, formerly of Pittston, where for many years, she served as the company’s bookkeeper.
A faithful Catholic, Marjorie was a lifelong member of the former Holy Trinity Church, Swoyersville, where she held membership with the parish’s Confraternity of Christian Women. Following the consolidation of her church, Marjorie became a member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Parish, Swoyersville.
Through Marjorie’s husband’s involvement with the Rotary Club, they proudly hosted five exchange students during the 1970’s and 1980’s.
Marjorie enjoyed many things in life, especially, gardening around her home, cooking for her family and playing bingo. By far, her greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her loving family.
In addition to her parents, John and Mary Hovan, and her husband, Edward, Marjorie was preceded in death by her brothers, Michael and Andrew Hovan; her sisters, Mary Baiz, Elizabeth Hudock, Agnes Clothier, Anna Lisnak, Helen Jarrett, Irene Gorda, Josephine Reggie and Alberta Wawer.
Marjorie is survived by her children, Anthony Krogulski and his wife Jennifer, of Harding; Edward Krogulski, Jr., and his wife Carolyn, of Endicott, New York; Joseph Krogulski and his wife Lynn, of West Wyoming; Karen Mazzaccaro and her husband Patrick, of Dallas; Mary Krolewski and her husband David, of Bear Creek; and Priscilla Barnes and her husband Curtis, of Reading; her sixteen grandchildren and twenty-six great-grandchildren; her brother, John (Bob) Hovan, of Swoyersville; her sister, Joan Fannick, of Shavertown; many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral which will be conducted on Tuesday, January 07, 2014, at 9:30 AM from the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM in Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 116 Hughes Street, Swoyersville, with the Reverend Joseph J. Pisaneschi, her Pastor, officiating.
Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Saint Mary the Maternity Roman Catholic Cemetery, West Wyoming.
Family and Friends are invited to call on Monday, January 06, 2014, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, at the funeral home.
The Confraternity of Christian Women of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish will recite the Rosary on Monday evening at 7:00 PM.
