Margaret M. Nevolas, 91, a lifelong resident of Swoyersville, entered into eternal rest early Thursday morning, April 26, 2018, at Saint Luke’s Villa, Wilkes-Barre, where she was recently a guest.
Born on May 26, 1926, in Swoyersville, Margaret was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Susan (Frohman) Nevolas.
Margaret was a graduate of the former Saint Cecelia’s High School, Exeter, and furthered her education at Marywood University, Scranton.
Prior to her retirement, Margaret was employed as a Medical Assistant for Dr. Louis Buckman, Wilkes-Barre, and also for Dr. Ronald Olson, West Pittston.
A faithful Catholic, Margaret was a lifelong member of the former Saint Mary of Czestochowa Church, Swoyersville. Active within in her church, she was a member of the choir, volunteered as a Religious Education Instructor, helped with the church’s annual bazaar, and as a young woman, held membership with the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality. Following the consolidation of her church, she became a member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville.
Margaret is survived by her beloved sister, Marie Nevolas, at home; as well as her cousins and dear friends.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend Margaret’s Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Monday, April 30, 2018, at 10:00 AM in Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 116 Hughes Street, Swoyersville, with the Reverend Joseph J. Pisaneschi, her Pastor, officiating.
Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery, Dallas.
In accordance with Margaret’s wishes, the viewing will be private for her immediate family and close friends.
