Margaret Lacina Monforte, 88, a resident of Dallas, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, December 30, 2012, at Commonwealth Hospice, Inpatient Unit, Saint Luke’s Villa, Wilkes-Barre.
Her beloved husband was the late Frank Monforte, who passed away on October 28, 1997. Frank and Margaret were united in marriage on February 01, 1945 in Holy Trinity Church, Swoyersville and together shared 52 years of marriage.
Born on September 25, 1924 in Swoyersville, Margaret was the daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Humzer) Lacina.
Raised in Swoyersville, Margaret graduated from the former Swoyersville High School, Class of 1942 as Valedictorian. Upon graduation, Margaret sought and acquired employment with Pagnotti Enterprises, Inc. in West Pittston. She worked faithfully in their accounts receivable department until her retirement after more than 40 years of dedicated service.
After their marriage in 1945, Frank and Margaret lived with Margaret's parents while their home was being built in Luzerne. They resided in that home until October of 1979 when they relocated to Dallas where Margaret was still living.
A faithful Catholic, Margaret was a longtime, good standing member of Holy Family Roman Catholic Parish, Luzerne.
Frank and Margaret led a very quiet and peaceful life together. It brings much comfort to know that they are once again united and resting peacefully in the loving arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
In addition to her parents, Frank Lacina and Anna (Humzer) Lacina, and her husband, Frank, Margaret was predeceased by her elder sister, Anna Lacina Stasko and elder brother, Frank Lacina.
Margaret is survived by her niece, Caroline Stasko Aibukas, of Edwardsville; her great-nephew, Caroline's son, John Aibukas, also of Edwardsville; her sister-in-law and caregiver, Peggie Monforte Grula, of Harvey's Lake; and her many other nieces and nephews.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 08, 2013, at 11:00 AM in Holy Family Roman Catholic Parish, 574 Bennett Street, Luzerne, with the Reverend Michael J. Zipay, her Pastor, officiating.
Prior to Mass, Family and Friends may call from 10:00 AM in the Church to pay their last respects to Margaret.
A private Interment will follow the Funeral Mass in the Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville.
