Margaret L. Domanish, 91, a resident of Kingston, passed into eternal life on Wednesday morning, March 01, 2017, at Celtic Healthcare Hospice, Inpatient Unit at Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre, following a brief illness.
Her beloved husband was the late Walter R. Domanish who passed away on January 19, 1994.
Born on February 23, 1926, in Wilkes-Barre, Margaret was one of four daughters born to the late Ernest and Anna Mae (Larkin) Lentz.
Raised in the Lee Park section of Hanover Township, Margaret was a graduate of Hanover High School, Class of 1944.
Prior to her retirement, Margaret was employed by the former Nesbitt Memorial Hospital, Kingston, working in its housekeeping department. Over her years there, she enjoyed being stationed in the Labor and Delivery Ward.
Margaret was a faithful Catholic and had a deep devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. She was a longtime member of Saint Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, Kingston, holding membership with the church’s Mary Ministry.
Until the age of 89, Margaret enjoyed exercising at Starr Fitness in the Thomas P. Saxon Medical Pavilion, Kingston, where she made many friends over the years.
Margaret had many enjoyments in life, especially cooking for her family, dining at various restaurants, and trying her luck at the Mohegan Sun Casino. Above all, her greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her beloved family, most especially her grandsons, who were her pride and joy!
The Family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Brown, the Emergency Room nurses, and the 5th Floor doctors and nurses at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center for their outstanding care. They wish to also extend their most sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses of Celtic Healthcare Hospice for their compassionate care of Margaret and her loved ones during her final days.
In addition to her parents, Ernest and Anna Mae Lentz, and her husband, Walter, Margaret was preceded in death by her sisters, Jean Kopko, Patricia Jabyac, and Elizabeth “Betty” Basar; and her beloved dog and faithful companion, Sasha.
Margaret is survived by her children, Margaret Macey, with whom she resided; Diane Mondy and her husband, Louis, Swoyersville; Robert Domanish, Kingston; and Marie Carey and her husband, Scott, Kingston; her grandsons, Adam Carey and his wife, Lydia, Forty Fort; and Nicholas Carey, Kingston; as well as her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral which will be conducted on Monday, March 06, 2017, at 9:45 AM from the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 AM in Saint Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, 339 North Maple Avenue, Kingston. The Reverend Richard J. Cirba, Pastor of Saint Vincent DePaul Parish, Milford, will be the celebrant. Con-celebrating the Funeral Mass will be the Reverend John J. Chmil, Pastor of Saint Ignatius Church, and Monsignor Neil J. Van Loon, Pastor of Saint Paul’s Parish, Scranton.
Entombment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Family and Friends are invited to call on Sunday, March 05, 2017, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, at the funeral home.
