Lorraine “Lorrie” Symons, 63, a resident of Larksville, passed into eternal life unexpectedly on Monday morning, August 07, 2023, at the home of her daughter, Jennifer, in Mountaintop.
Her loving husband is Russell J. Symons Jr. Russ and Lorrie were looking forward to celebrating their 41st wedding anniversary on October 9th.
Born on September 08, 1959, in Wilkes-Barre, Lorraine was one of four children born to the late Mary Lorraine “Sissy” Giampietro Weidlich, who passed away on October 12, 2021, and Charles R. Weidlich, who resides in Penn Argyl.
Raised in Wilkes-Barre, Lorrie was a graduate of the former G.A.R. Memorial High School, Class of 1977.
Lorrie was a homemaker most of her life and she epitomized the role of dedicated wife and mother.
A woman of great faith, Lorrie was a devout member of Harvest Church, Trucksville. Always loving, always forgiving, and always selfless, Lorrie lived her faith each and every day of her life. Devoted to God and family, Lorrie opened her heart and home to everyone. Her kindness was unmatched – her love was boundless – her laugh was unmistakable!
Lorrie’s life was blessed with not only her own grandchildren, she was equally blessed with “extended grandchildren” – she simply loved children regardless of relation, race, color, or creed and she never missed an opportunity to teach them the word of God through the spoken word as well as song.
Never missing an opportunity to capture a memory, Lorrie was the official family photographer as well as the organizer and holder of all the family photo albums. She also had a great knack for crafting, with crocheting being one of her favorite pastimes.
This is the legacy she leaves behind, and the story of her life has not ended. Her soul lives on forever in Heaven, rejoicing in the presence of her God who she placed all her faith and trust in. Until we are reunited with her there, we will remember her as a loving, caring, and devoted wife, mom, grammy, sister, aunt, and friend.
In addition to her husband, Russell, and her father, Charles, Lorrie is survived by her two children, Jennifer Lorraine Symons Lau and her husband, Jonathan, Mountaintop; and Jonathan Russell Symons and his wife, Gianna, Jessup; her five grandchildren, Joshua Michael Lau, Kianna Faith Lau, Jeremiah Caleb Lau, Christian Symons, and Cameron Symons; her three siblings, Charles Weidlich, Wilkes-Barre; Donna Weidlich, Wilkes-Barre; and Karen Glova, Kingston; as well as her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Lorrie’s viewing which will be held on Friday, August 11, 2023, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort.
