Lisa Anne Makarewicz Korey, 40, a resident of Luzerne, passed away on Tuesday, March 01, 2016, at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore, following a valiant battle with cancer.
Her loving husband is Christopher J. Korey. Together, Chris and Lisa celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary on February 22nd.
Born on December 02, 1975, in Wilkes-Barre, Lisa is the daughter of Charles D. Makarewicz and Roseanne (Kerrick) Gallagher. She was the step-daughter of Michele Makarewicz and James Gallagher.
Lisa was a co-owner and office manager of Yeshua the Carpenter, Luzerne. In her earlier years, she was a manager for Ole Tyme Charley’s Restaurant and Pub, Plains Township.
A loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece and friend, Lisa was always there for everyone, and she found the greatest reward in life was doing things for others. She enjoyed many things throughout her life, most especially vacationing with her family at various beach destinations and boating.
In addition to her husband, parents and step-parents, Lisa is survived by her daughter and son, Madison Anne and Jackson, both at home; her brothers and sisters, Charles and his wife, Sarah; Jonathan and his wife, Patty; Catherine; Alex and her husband, John; and Ashley; her maternal grandparents, Edward and Eleanor Kerrick; her numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends and her two dogs, Maiden and Kia.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 05, 2016, at 11:00 AM at the Back Mountain Harvest Assembly, 340 Carverton Road, Trucksville, with Pastor Ray Petts, officiating.
Family and Friends may join the family from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at Back Mountain Harvest Assembly.
Lisa requested that all those who will be attending her Celebration of Life Service bring a colorful balloon to release at the conclusion of the services.
