Lena Fumanti, 90, formerly of the Hilldale section of Plains Township, passed into eternal life on Friday morning, June 18, 2021, at the Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Dallas, where she was a guest for the past four years.
Raised in the Hilldale section of Plains Township, Lena was born there on September 22, 1930, to the late Frank and Florence (Ercolani) Fumanti. She was one of four children, and the only daughter born to her beloved parents.
Lena was a graduate of the former Plains Memorial High School, Class of 1948, and prior to her retirement, she was employed for many years as an executive secretary for the Bridon-American Corporation, Hanover Township.
A woman of great faith, Lena was a lifelong member of the Christian Apostolic Church of Hilldale, where she served as an organist, and also helped with the cleaning of the church until her early 80’s.
Lena had many enjoyments in life, especially going on cruises and family beach vacations with her nieces.
Family brought Lena the greatest joy throughout her life. She was the matriarch of the Fumanti family, and although she never married or had children of her own, she regarded her nieces and nephews as her own children. A staple at every family gathering, Lena never forgot a birthday, anniversary, or special day in the lives of her loved ones. A living example of Christ to her family, Lena loved with her whole heart, listened intently, and prayed endlessly. Although her presence will be deeply missed, there is boundless joy in knowing she is now resting in the arms of her Lord and Savior, reunited with those loved ones who have gone before her.
In addition to her parents, Frank and Florence Fumanti, Lena was preceded in death by her three brothers, Joseph Fumanti, Anthony Fumanti, and Daniel Fumanti.
Lena is survived by her many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and great-great nieces and great-great nephews.
In keeping with Lena’s wishes, a private family viewing will be held for her immediate family on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, at the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, with a funeral service to commence at 7:00 PM.
Interment will be privately held on Wednesday morning in Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Hanover Township.
