Keri Ann Kuzma McDermott, 55, a resident of Shavertown, entered into eternal rest, surrounded by her loved ones, on Sunday afternoon, April 12, 2026, in the comfort of her home.
Born on October 18, 1970, in Kingston, Keri was one of three children born to Charles Kuzma and Diane Roberts Kuzma, of Centermoreland.
Raised in Centermoreland, Keri was a graduate of Tunkhannock Area High School, Class of 1988, and went on to further her education at Penn State University, Lehman Campus, where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business and took credits toward her Master’s Degree in Accounting.
Keri was employed as an accounts receivable representative for Frontline Managed Services, Missouri, working from her home in Shavertown.
A devout Catholic, Keri was a faithful member of Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini Church, Carverton section of Kingston Township, and also frequently attended Masses and Adoration at the Oblates of Saint Joseph Chapel, Pittston. Prayer was a constant in Keri’s life and her devotion to the Divine Mercy of Our Lord and the Most Blessed Virgin Mary was strengthened through the Most Holy Rosary which she prayed often.
Keri enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, especially crocheting, reading, completing fine line coloring pages, and curling up with her much loved cats, Zipper and Ava.
Above all, Keri will be remembered best for the unwavering love she had for her family, especially her son, Anthony. One of the most special bonds in life is between a mother and son, and as a mother Keri was a source of continuous love, support and encouragement to Anthony – she was simply the best mother a son could ever ask for!
Preceding Keri in death were her maternal grandparents, Walter and Josephine Roberts; her paternal grandparents, Edward and Lillian Kuzma; as well as several aunts and uncles.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving son, Anthony McDermott and his wife, Yanesi, Shavertown; her parents, Charles and Diane Kuzma, Centermoreland; her brothers, Timothy Kuzma, Centermoreland, and Jason Kuzma and his wife, Denise, Tunkhannock; her niece and Goddaughter, Emma Kuzma, and her nephew, Cameron Kuzma, both of Tunkhannock; her aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; as well as her beloved cats, Zipper and Ava.
A private viewing and Mass of Christian Burial were celebrated on Saturday in Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini Church. The Reverend Father Joseph D. Sibilano, O.S.J., was the celebrant.
Interment with the Rite of Committal followed in Mount Olivet Roman Catholic Cemetery, Carverton section of Kingston Township.
