Karen A. Fedor, 66, a resident of Lehman, passed away peacefully, with her husband by her side, on Monday evening, September 19, 2016, at Allied Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Scranton.
Her loving husband is John M. Fedor. John and Karen shared 22 wonderful years of marriage.
Born on December 2, 1949, in Swoyersville, Karen was the oldest of four children born to the late Robert R. and Geraldine M. (Rusinko) Janov.
Karen was a member of the last graduating class of the former Swoyersville High School, graduating in 1967.
Soon after graduation, Karen married and spent several years raising her three children. After her children were grown, she earned her Real Estate License from Penn State Lehman Campus, and went on to work with Rothstein Realtors, Kingston. She then went on to work for the Victims Resource Center and later worked for Maternal and Family Health Services, from where she retired in 2010.
Karen spent the last three years as a resident of Allied Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Scranton, where she was well tended to by their staff and visited daily by her family.
A faithful Catholic, Karen was a member of Holy Family Roman Catholic Parish, Luzerne.
Karen greatly enjoyed going on summer vacations with her husband and family. Her favorite vacations were to various beach destinations, especially the Bahamas.
Family was the center of Karen’s life and she cherished every moment she had with her loved ones. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and she always held a special place in her heart for each of them. Although Karen will be greatly missed, her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
In addition to her husband, John, Karen is survived by her children, Jeffrey Miller and his fiancée, Mindy Malia, and their children, Jacob, Mira and Mackenzie, all of Trucksville; Jason Miller, Lehman; and Jennifer Serkosky and her husband, Paul, and their children, Mia, Alivia, Isabella and Benjamin, all of Exeter; her step-son, Dan Fedor and his wife, Lara, and their son, Harrison, all of Waverly; her sister, Nancy Janov, Lutz, Florida; her brothers, Richard Janov, West Wyoming; and Robert Janov and his wife, Carla, Edwardsville; as well as her many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral which will be conducted on Friday, September 23, 2016, at 9:30 AM from the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM in Holy Family Roman Catholic Parish, 574 Bennett Street, Luzerne.
Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Pikes Creek.
