Joseph G. Pretko, 76, a resident of Dallas Township, passed away on Friday, June 16, 2017, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.

His loving wife is Rosalie A. (Lugar) Pretko. Together, Joe and Rosalie celebrated their 52^nd wedding anniversary on January 9^th.

Born on February 18, 1941, in Wilkes-Barre, Joe was one of eleven children born to the late Alexander and Albina (Yurewicz) Pretko.

Raised in Swoyersville, Joe was a graduate of the former West Side Central Catholic High School, Kingston. He later went on to attend King’s College, where he attained his Bachelor’s Degree in Business.

A United States Air Force veteran, Joe honorably served his country for four years during peacetime.

Prior to his retirement in 2002, Joe was employed for over 25 years as a service technician for General Electric.

Joe’s favorite pastime in life was gardening, and he was involved with the Master Gardening Program through Penn State University’s Lehman Campus.

Family was truly the most important part of Joe’s life and he cherished every moment he had with his loved ones, most especially his beloved grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Alexander and Albina Pretko, Joe was preceded in death by his brothers, Gerald, Alexander and Edward Pretko; and his sisters, Frances Pretko, Rita Kosenak, Irene Shepanski, Dorothy Pretko, and Helen Soha.

In addition to his wife, Rosalie, Joe is survived by his daughter, Debbie Draus and her husband, Curt, Dallas; his son, Matthew Pretko and his wife, Lisa, Dallas; his grandchildren, Joseph Newton Pretko and Kimberly Pretko; his brothers, Walter Pretko and Raymond Pretko, both of Michigan; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

As per Joe’s wishes, there will be no public service or calling hours.

Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort.
