Joseph E. Yanora, 92, a former resident of Palmer Street, Plymouth, passed away on Tuesday morning, January 28, 2014, at Manor Care Health and Rehabilitation Center, Kingston.
His wife was the late Jeanette E. (Barto) Yanora, who passed away on November 17, 2010.
Born on March 10, 1921, in Wilkes-Barre, Joseph was the son of the late Rocco and Maria (Fiore) Yanora.
Raised in Wilkes-Barre, Joseph was a graduate of G.A.R. Memorial High School, Class of 1939.
A United States Army Veteran, Joseph honorably served his country during World War II. Upon his honorable discharge, he attained the rank of Technician 5th Grade.
Prior to his retirement, Joseph was employed for seven years as a driver for Roadway Express. In his earlier years, he was employed for twenty six years as a driver for Associated Transport.
Joseph was a faithful member of the former Saint Therese Church, Wilkes-Barre.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Joseph was preceded in death by his brothers.
Joseph is survived by his children, Joseph Yanora, Jo Ann Soutter, Linda LaBuono and Doreen Crush; his six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Blessing Service which will be celebrated on Monday, February 03, 2014, at 10:30 AM, at the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort.
Interment will follow at 2:00 PM in Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, where Military Honors will be accorded.
