John “Skud” Skudalski, 60, a resident of Swoyersville, passed into eternal life on Thursday morning, November 13, 2025, at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Inpatient Unit, Dunmore.
His loving wife is Ann Marie Peterlin-Skudalski. Together, Skud and Ann Marie celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary on May 18, 2025.
Born on June 21, 1965, in Kingston, Skud was one of four children born to the late Thomas P. Skudalski Sr. and Harriet Kolessar Skudalski.
Raised in Pringle, Skud was a graduate of Wyoming Valley West High School, Class of 1983, and furthered his education at Bloomsburg University where he acquired both his Bachelor of Science Degree and Master’s Degree in Computer Science.
Prior to his retirement, Skud was employed for 25 years as a radio engineer for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, working with the Pennsylvania State Police in Harrisburg.
A man of faith, Skud was a member of Holy Family Parish, Luzerne.
John had three loves in life, first and foremost for his family, most especially his daughter, Leah, who was his everything – he lived for her, and loved everything they shared, especially their passion for golf. Secondly, he loved all Michigan sports teams, especially Michigan University’s Wolverine football team of which he was a season ticket holder for 34 years. Lastly, he loved family vacations at the beach, treasuring every moment they spent together.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ann Marie, and their daughter, Leah, at home; his brother, Thomas Skudalski Jr. and his wife, Beth, Wilkes-Barre, and their children, Tom and Sarah; his sisters, Christine Smith and her children, Patrick and Wayne; and Sharon Skudalski and her children, RJ and Jesse; his father-in-law, Carl Peterlin Sr., Swoyersville; his brothers-in-law, Carl Peterlin Jr. and his wife, Mary Ann, Harveys Lake, and their children, CJ and Joel; and Joseph Peterlin and his wife, Maryann, Schwenksville, and their children, Cierra, Cole, and Owen; his sister-in-law, Lisa Sanders and her husband, Richard, Jacksonville, Florida, and their children, Tori and Teague; his numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; as well as countless friends.
The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the nurses and staff from Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their compassionate care for both John and his family. Most special gratitude is extended to Karen McGee RN, BSN for her unforgettable kindness – she is truly an angel on Earth.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a memorial visitation on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, from 9:00 to 10:00 AM in Holy Family Parish, 574 Bennett Street, Luzerne, where a Memorial Mass will commence at 10:00 AM. Monsignor David L. Tressler, his Pastor, will officiate.
Private interment will be in Saint Ann’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Lehman Township.
Skud’s family entrusted his funeral arrangements to the care of the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort.
