Hubert G. “Bud” Pfingsten, 94, a resident of Wyoming and formerly of Swoyersville, passed into eternal life on Sunday, February 11, 2018, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
His 1st wife of 47 years was the late Agnes C. (Kopetchny) Pfingsten, who passed away on December 11, 1993, and his 2nd wife of 13 years was the late Mary Ann (Pavco) Yarmey Pfingsten, who passed away on January 12, 2009.
Born on October 20, 1923, in Swoyersville, Hubert was one of four children born to the late Hubert and Christina (Lamoreaux) Pfingsten.
Raised in Swoyersville, Bud was a graduate of the former Swoyersville High School, Class of 1942.
A United States Army Air Corps Veteran, Bud honorably served his country for over three years during World War II as a B29 Flight Engineer.
Prior to his retirement, Bud was employed as a tool and die maker in the manufacturing industry.
Bud was a longtime member of the former Holy Name/Saint Mary’s Parish Community, Swoyersville.
A proud veteran, Bud held membership with the American Legion, Andrew Lawrence Post 644, Swoyersville.
In addition to his parents, Hubert and Christina Pfingsten, his 1st wife, Agnes, and his 2nd wife, Mary Ann, Bud was preceded in death by his brothers, John and William Pfingsten; and his sister, Elizabeth Schultz.
Bud is survived by his sister-in-law, Betty (Pavco) Pfingsten, Tampa, Florida; his six step-children; his numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as his nieces and nephews.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend Bud’s Blessing Service which will be celebrated on Thursday, February 15, 2018, at 10:00 AM at the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort. The Reverend Joseph J. Pisaneschi, Pastor of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville, will officiate. The Rite of Committal will be offered at the conclusion of the service.
Interment will follow in Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Swoyersville.
Family and Friends are invited to Bud’s viewing on Thursday morning from 9:30 to 10:00 AM, at the funeral home.
