Henry L. “Hank” Stanski, 63, a resident of Plains Township, and a former longtime resident of the Back Mountain, passed away on Wednesday morning, January 05, 2022, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
His loving wife is Carol Jo “CJ” (Morris) Ragugini.
Born on October 20, 1958, in Wilkes-Barre, Hank was the son of the late Henry and Ann (Wender) Stanski.
Raised in Plains Township, Hank was a graduate of the former James M. Coughlin High School.
Hank joined the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) in 1979, beginning his career with them as an apprentice lineman. In 1988, he became an officer on the executive board for the IBEW Local Union 1319, being promoted to President of the local union in 1990. In 1993 he was voted in as business manager for the IBEW Local Union 1319, serving in that capacity for 28 years until his retirement in November of 2021. Additionally, he served on the board of trustees of the Line Construction Benefit Fund since 1995, helping all his fellow IBEW workers.
Hank truly loved life and lived it to the fullest! An avid hunter and fisherman, Hank greatly enjoyed spending weekends at the hunting cabin in Mehoopany with his friends. Hank was a Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan. He was also an avid traveler who was blessed to travel throughout the United States, and he especially enjoyed his trips to Las Vegas with CJ and loved the concerts and shows they would attend there.
In addition to his wife, CJ Ragugini, Hank is survived by his step-son, Jesse Ragugini and his wife, Katelynn, Pittston; his sisters, Karlyn Willis and her husband, David, Plains Township; and Patricia Libertoski and her husband, Edward, Plains Township; his brother-in-law, James Morris and his wife, Dorothy, Wilkes-Barre; his sister-in-law, Diane Peck and her husband, Michael, Wilkes-Barre; as well as his nieces and a nephew.
Due to concerns over the current pandemic, a memorial service in celebration of Hank’s life will be held at a future date.
