Helen V. Kozemchak, 95, a former resident of Washington Square Apartments, Wilkes-Barre, passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning, December 04, 2012, at Manor Care Health and Rehabilitation Center, Kingston, where she was a guest.
Her beloved husband was the late Nicholas Kozemchak, who passed away on January 18, 1998.
Born on February 14, 1917 in Swoyersville, Helen was the daughter of the late John J. Farris and Anna V. (Bosak) Farris.
Raised in Swoyersville, Helen attended the former Saint John Nepomucene School, Luzerne.
Prior to her retirement, Helen was employed by the former Liberty Silk Mill, Kingston.
A faithful Catholic, Helen was a member of Holy Family Parish, Luzerne. In her earlier years, she was a member of the former Saint John Nepomucene Church, Luzerne, where she held membership with the parish’s Altar and Rosary Society.
Helen was a member of the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association and also was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion, Andrew Lawrence Post 644, of Swoyersville.
In addition to her husband, Nicholas and her parents, John and Anna Farris, Helen was preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph Farris, Albert Farris and John C. Farris; her sisters, Anne Farris and Mary Patyk.
Helen is survived by her nieces and nephews.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral which will be conducted on Saturday, December 08, 2012 at 10:00 AM from the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 AM in Holy Family Roman Catholic Parish, 574 Bennett Street, Luzerne, with the Reverend Michael J. Zipay, her pastor, officiating.
Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Mount Olivet Roman Catholic Cemetery, Carverton.
