Helen R. “Yench” Albosta, 96, a lifelong resident of Ashley, passed into eternal life on Sunday morning, September 17, 2017, at Timber Ridge Health Care Center, Wilkes-Barre.
Her beloved husband was the late Paul P. Albosta, who passed away on June 03, 2000. Together, Paul and Helen shared 52 wonderful years of marriage.
Born on July 02, 1921, in Ashley, Helen was one of ten children born to the late Frank and Teofilia (Lipiec) Karbosky.
Helen was a graduate of the former Ashley High School, Class of 1939.
A homemaker most of her life, Helen lovingly tended to the daily needs of her home and family.
Helen was a faithful Catholic and member of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Sugar Notch. Additionally, she was a member of the Polish Women’s Alliance, once serving as her local chapters Treasurer.
In addition to her parents, Frank and Teofilia Karbosky, and her husband, Paul, Helen was preceded in death by her son, Paul Albosta, who passed away on June 03, 1998; as well as four brothers, and four sisters.
Helen is survived by her sons, Mark Albosta, Lorton, Virginia; and David Albosta, La Marque, Texas; her daughters, Mary Cherkauskas and her husband, Bill, Ashley; Jane Hagenbach and her husband, Bob, Benton; and Nancy Albosta, Ashley; her eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; her sister, Martha Yeeles and her husband, Tim, Vienna, Virginia; as well as her many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral which will be conducted on Saturday, September 23, 2017, at 9:15 AM from the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM in Holy Family Church, 828 Main Street, Sugar Notch, with the Reverend Joseph R. Kakareka, her Pastor, officiating. The Reverend John T. Albosta will con-celebrate the Funeral Mass.
Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Hanover Township.
